The Tahamis worshiped the fish Batolito, which, according to legend, jumped out of the sea to protect them from the wrath of the heavenly gods. In battle, she was petrified and turned into El Peñon de Guatapé. The rock rises alone among the low hills, so it looks especially impressive. Its height is 220 m, while another 2/3 of the stone is underground. It is believed that its age is more than 70 million years. Since the 40s El Peñon de Guatape is under state protection. The first ascent to it was made in 1954, it took 5 days. This is a wonderfully beautiful place.
