A bit about the country

General

Greenland is the largest island on the planet, but it is inhabited by only 55 thousand people, since almost all of its vast territory is covered with ice. This climatic feature forces local residents to organize their life, which has many differences from the rest of Europe and Denmark, of which the island is part.

How to get there

The most common way to get there is by plane, with regular flights from Copenhagen (Denmark), Reykjavik (Iceland) and some other European cities. The island also has several small airports serving regional flights. Once you arrive on the island, the best way to get around is by boat, helicopter or snowmobile, depending on the location and time of year.

Climate

Greenland's climate is a tundra climate (Köppen ET) on and near the coasts and an ice cap climate (Köppen EF) in the interior. It usually has short, cool summers and long, moderately cold winters.
