Nadi International Airport (IATA: NAN) is the primary gateway to Fiji. Below you will find the same level of detail you may have seen on other portals, but fully updated and curated by the Travel Code team.
What to Expect
Nadi’s single, recently rebuilt terminal serves both domestic and international traffic. Roughly a dozen eateries, the obligatory duty-free, and a sprinkling of souvenir shops make up the retail scene. Free Wi-Fi (two hours/1 GB) keeps you connected, and those seeking extra comfort can buy access to premium lounges. The airport is compact, so everything is walkable.
Sleeping in Nadi Airport
Recent travelers say air-conditioning makes airside cool at night, while landside carpet and padded benches lure power-nappers. Some couches remain, but post-renovation reviews are scarce—help fellow flyers by sending your feedback to Travel Code. For uninterrupted rest, skip the terminal and book one of the nearby airport hotels.
Good to Know
Reports persist of duty-free liquids being confiscated on international transfers and valuables disappearing from checked bags. Wrap luggage or use on-site Secure Bag services for peace of mind.
Airport Hours
The terminal remains open 24/7, though most concessions shutter overnight.
Rest & Relaxation Zones
Dozens of chaise-style “daybeds” dot the international wing. The quieter batch hides behind the Prouds duty-free store—perfect if you crave semi-privacy. As always, keep valuables on a leash.
Cots
Management does not supply emergency cots. If this changes, let Travel Code know so we can update future editions.
Airport Hotels
If the idea of sleeping under fluorescent lights is terrifying, you’ll find two reliable options within a five-minute shuttle ride:
- Fiji Gateway Hotel – Walkable (10 min) or free shuttle. Pool, tennis court, late-night café.
- Tokatoka Resort Hotel – Directly opposite the terminal; free shuttle on request. Lush gardens, lagoon-style pool.
For additional properties sorted by price or rating, see partners such as Booking.com or TripAdvisor.

Security & Safety
- Stay visible: Pick spots near CCTV or active patrol routes.
- Stick together: Solo travelers should park near other sleepers or staff desks.
- Lock up: Pacsafe cables or simple carabiners deter quick-handed thieves.
- Stay sharp: Coffee shops reopen at 04:00—until then, keep shifts with your travel companion if possible.
