General

Mystical Nepal is renowned as the center of spirituality in Asia, and path-seekers travel here from all over the world to meditate and soak up the unique atmosphere of the place. Those who are not yet looking for enlightenment also go to admire the beautiful mountains, stunning temples and ancient pagodas. And also for exotic excursions, amazing trekking and rafting. This small state, sandwiched between Tibet and India, is home to eight of the world's highest peaks, including Everest and Lambini, the birthplace of Buddha Shakyamuni, Prince of Gautama. Nepal is a very secluded, even remote place, and it is not for everyone. The minimum altitude here is 100 m, but most of Nepal is high mountain. It is difficult to breathe here without preparation and difficult to move around. Accommodation and trips to restaurants in Nepal are very affordable, but the flight is long, with transfers and, as a result, very expensive.

How to get there

There is no direct connection between USA and Kathmandu. To get to the mountainous kingdom, in most cases, you will have to make at least two transfers: for example, in Moscow and Sharjah (if you fly from Moscow with low-cost Air Arabia) or in Moscow and Doha if you fly with Qatar Airlines. A flight to Kathmandu from USA with just one change - in Istanbul - is offered by Turkish Airlines. Taking into account transfers, the journey to the capital of Nepal from USA will take about 16 hours.

Climate

In areas below 1000 m above sea level, summers are hot - from +30 °C, and winters are warm: +20 °C. In mountainous areas there is no intense heat in summer, and winter is cool (at night there are frosts down to −4 °C). In summer there is heavy rainfall.
