The Namib Desert is Namibia's most vibrant and important landmark. It was created by nature about a hundred million years ago, long before man appeared on Earth. The length of the Namib Desert is more than one and a half thousand kilometers along the Atlantic coast. Namb comes close to the very shore of the Atlantic Ocean, this is probably one of the most exotic and longest wild “beaches” in the world. Much of the desert is a protected area called the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Here you can find unique black rocks, colored dunes, beautiful gray pebbles and multi-colored sands. The red, orange and golden sands of the Namib-Naukluft desert create a unique and amazing landscape, somewhat reminiscent of the Martian landscape. There are practically no settlements here, only a couple of small settlements and a few tourist hotels. Perhaps this is the only place in the world where in the desert you can see a tree that died a thousand years ago. The Namib is one of the driest deserts on our planet; plants here are forced to adapt to such a harsh climate, so in Namibia you can find trees and shrubs of the most bizarre shapes. Sossusvlei At dawn you will go to the valley of the fabulous Sossusvlei dunes, playing with different colors at sunrise. Here you can climb the highest dunes in the world, take a walk to the “dead valley”, where you will see trees scorched by the bright African sun at the bottom of the white salt marsh. And all this is surrounded by the highest orange sand dunes under a blue sky. The majestic red dunes are up to 400 meters high. The colors of these places are simply amazing - from dark burgundy, red, orange at dawn and sunset to golden and pink shades of the sands during the day. The white salt marshes and dead trees in “Death Valley” against the backdrop of the crystal clear blue sky will remain in your memory for a lifetime. And during the rainy season, the Sossusvlei plateau becomes even more colorful, the rivers fill, and the trees turn green.
