Visit the ancient civilization of Tiwanaku with a full day excursion to the ruins of Tiyahuanaco, followed by a visit to the stunning Sun and Moon Islands. After lunch, you will travel from Tiyahuanaco to Huatahatu on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your first day flight to Uyuni on a 50-minute flight. Start of the expedition tour in Uyuni First we will visit the Train Cemetery, then we will go to the city of Colchani, where we will visit the salt processing center and receive a detailed explanation of the process of drying, grinding and packaging. We will then travel to the salt flats, making our first stop at OJOS DE SALAR, where you can see the internal activity of the salt flat, and then go to PLAYA BLANCA, the "Salt Hotel Museum", the first of its kind. At noon we will visit the island of Incahuasi in the middle of the salt marsh; there you'll see unparalleled limestone cliffs, large populations of cacti, caves, tunnels and breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the salt marsh. We will continue our journey, crossing the endless salt flats from north to south, leaving them behind, and go along the chain of volcanoes with their eternal snows to Lipes, where we will see the Ollague volcano in the distance. This day starts early, around 6:00 am. The first activity is a visit to the famous desert rock formation, Stone Tree. We then head to the unique Colorado Lagoon, a place famous for its biodiversity and the home and breeding ground of flamingos. Next we will visit Sol de Mañana, where we can observe the volcanic activity of the region and see fumaroles or geysers. After this we will drive to Polques where you can enjoy the hot springs. Later we reach the Dali Desert, where there are surreal columns of stones carved by the wind. We will then enjoy Laguna Verde or Green Lagoon, one of the pearls of the reserve, at its best, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. We will then head back to Uyuni and walk through the Valley of the Rocks, home to the giant volcanic rocks near Alot. Our last stop is the village of San Cristobal, which was moved from its original location to its current location to accommodate one of the largest mines in Bolivia.
