TL;DR: Travel Code now has an open-source node for n8n, the workflow automation platform. Connect your Travel Code account over OAuth 2.0 and automate approvals, expense reports, invoices, booking notifications and traveller alerts without writing code.
Travel and expense data rarely stays inside one tool. Approvals live in Slack, expenses end up in accounting, invoices go to finance, and someone always needs to know who is on the road this week. Until now, connecting Travel Code to the rest of your stack meant writing code against our API.
Today we are releasing the Travel Code node for n8n. Install it in your n8n instance, connect your Travel Code account, and build automations with drag and drop.
What you can do
The Travel Code node works with the data your team already manages in Travel Code:
| Resource | Operations |
|---|---|
| Orders | Get one, list all |
| Expenses | Get one, list all |
| Expense reports | Get one, list all |
| Approvals | List, get, approve, reject |
| Invoices | List with amounts due and payment status |
| Travellers | Who is travelling now or soon, and where |
| Reference data | Airports, airlines |
The Travel Code Trigger starts a workflow when something new happens:
- a new order is booked;
- a new expense or card transaction appears;
- a new request is waiting for your approval;
- an employee submits an expense report.
The node can also be used as a tool by the n8n AI Agent, so an assistant can look up orders or expenses when it needs them.
Workflow ideas
Approvals in Slack or Teams
When a new approval request arrives, post it to the approver with Approve and Reject buttons. The decision goes back to Travel Code — no need to open another tab.
Expenses to accounting
When an expense report is submitted or approved, send its lines to your accounting system, a Google Sheet or your data warehouse.
Invoice reminders
Every morning, list unpaid invoices that are due soon and send a summary to finance.
Traveller alerts
Check who is travelling this week and post a daily digest to the operations channel, or alert a manager when someone lands in a high-risk destination.
New booking notifications
Tell the office manager, the project owner or a CRM record whenever a trip is booked.
How to get started
- In n8n, go to Settings → Community nodes and install
n8n-nodes-travelcode. - Create a Travel Code OAuth2 API credential and connect your Travel Code account. Step-by-step instructions are in the README on GitHub.
- Add the Travel Code node or the Travel Code Trigger to a workflow.
Access is secure by design: n8n connects through OAuth 2.0, the consent screen shows exactly what it is allowed to do, and it only sees what your Travel Code role allows — a company admin sees the whole company, an employee sees their own trips and expenses.
Plans
API access through connected apps is included in the Premium and Pro plans without limits. Companies on the free plan can make up to 10 requests a day — enough to try the integration before upgrading.
Open source
The node is open source under the MIT license: github.com/Travel-Code-Inc/n8n-nodes-travelcode. Ideas and pull requests are welcome — tell us which operations you would like to see next.
