After swimming, we head to a cozy guest house, where we will have dinner and rest before the next day of travel.

Today we have one of the most eventful days of the trip . From the very morning we set off to explore the most iconic natural locations of the southern coast of Iceland - from powerful waterfalls to black beaches and glacial lagoons.

The first stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall. At this time of year it is impossible to walk behind the waterfall due to the slippery path, but its powerful stream of water falling from a height of 60 meters remains spectacular at any time of year. From here we will go straight to Gljúfrabúi waterfall , which is hidden among the rocks . You can get to it by walking along a shallow stream between stone walls, which makes the encounter with the waterfall especially atmospheric.

The next stop is Skógafoss waterfall. This is one of the most famous and powerful waterfalls in Iceland , which amazes with its wide stream of water and the roar of falling water . In spring and summer, you can often see a double rainbow here, forming in the fog at the foot of the waterfall.

Continuing our journey, we reach the Dyrhólaey headland , one of the best vantage points on the southern coast. It offers breathtaking views of the black sand beaches, the Atlantic Ocean and the rock arch pierced by the sea waves .

After lunch, we will visit Yoda Cave – a unique cave whose name speaks for itself. If you look at it from a certain angle, the shape of the entrance to the cave really does resemble Yoda's head from Star Wars .

In the afternoon we head to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon . It is a green, winding canyon with steep rock walls that is impressive even in March, when its peaks may be covered in light snow.

After the canyon, we will get to know the Vatnajökull glacier , the largest glacier in Europe. We will approach one of its ice tongues, where we will be able to feel the cold breath of ancient ice and see cracks and patterns created by time .

The final stop of the route is the Jökulsárlón Lagoon , where huge icebergs slowly drift into the ocean . We will also visit Diamond Beach , where chunks of ice washed up on the black sand beach sparkle in the sun like diamonds .

Although the hiking route may be inaccessible in March due to snow, the viewing platform offers incredible views of the unique geological formations and the turquoise river Jökulsá á Dal .

Next we will visit a stunning place - the geothermal area Hverir . This is a truly Martian landscape with boiling mud pots and the smell of sulfur that will fill the air. A walk along wooden paths among active geothermal processes will give you unforgettable impressions of the very nature of Iceland.
