Founded by Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century, Panama City was the first Spanish city on the Pacific coast. Today, the city is divided into two parts: Old Panama (Panama Viejo), where the ruins of 17th-century cathedrals, monasteries and bridges are preserved, and New Panama, a modern metropolis with the colonial Casco Antiguo district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
6-hour city sightseeing tour includes:

• Visit the Panama Miraflores Canal Visitor Center, where you will see how ships are controlled through the canal and learn about the history of this enormous engineering project, called the "Eighth Wonder of the World."

• Stroll through the city's historic and modern neighborhoods, including the former canalside housing area where American construction workers lived and Balboa Boulevard, which runs along the Bay of Panama.

A fascinating trip to the Chagres National Park, where you will visit the village of Tusipono, inhabited by the Embera Indians. You will get acquainted with their culture, traditions, crafts and way of life. The Embera Indians are known for their woven baskets, wooden sculptures, jewelry and other handicrafts.
The program includes:

• Traditional dances and the opportunity to take part in them.

• A trip on an Indian canoe along the Chagres River.

• Bathing in the Chorro del Mono waterfall, where you can sometimes see capuchin monkeys.

Parque Soberania is one of the best places in Central America for birding and wildlife watching. You will visit the Rainforest Discovery Center, climb the observation tower and walk along nature trails to see a variety of birds, insects and plants.

Travel to Gamboa, where the Chagres River meets the Panama Canal. Here you will board an expedition ship and sail across Gatun Lake. You will pass giant cargo ships passing through the canal and get closer to islands covered in tropical forests.
The islands are home to white capuchins, howler monkeys, spider monkeys and tamarins.
